What you can do

The consultation period may be over, but it’s hugely important we keep the awareness of the campaign going, we keep supporting the library, and we keep our voices being heard by East Sussex County Council.

There are 3 key things you can do right now to try and help save Ore Library:

1. USE ORE LIBRARY…

If you haven’t done so already, sign up to the library and make use of their services.

It’s completely free to get a library card and free to borrow books. But there is so many other things available at Ore Library, including; Audiobooks & DVDs, Computers with internet access, Free Wi-Fi, Bus pass forms, and photocopier to name a few.

2. WRITE TO EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL…

Ideally you can do two things here. Firstly, write to Laurie Loe as the County Councillor for Ore and Baird, Secondly, write to the 8 councillors on the Cabinet who will be making the final decision about Ore Library this March.

  • Email Laurie Loe: it would appear from his “11th hour” support of Ore Library, that the pressure from and the voices of the community are being heard, so let’s keep it up. His e-mail address is: cllr.laurie.loe@eastsussex.gov.uk
  • Email the Cabinet: the 8 members of the cabinet are the ones who’ll be making the final decision about Ore Library in March, so let’s ensure we let them know our thoughts too. See here for their e-mail addresses and a draft email template.

3. SHARE WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY…

Whether you share a link to this page or tag them into the Save Ore Library Facebook page, encourage people you know (especially in Ore) to get out there and use the Library and to write to ESCC councillors…even if they’ve completed a consultation.
